Palmer's Foot Magic Cream

This is yet another foot product I've been using- but this one is really nice!

It's more like a foot balm; it has the texture of a thick vaseline.

It is really rich and nice, it is scented like a peppermint cocoa butter.  I use this after I get out of the shower and it really does feel soothing.  It really is moisturizing as well, but I find it most effective when I apply a thick layer and sleep in cotton socks.  It reminds me a lot of a Burt's Bees foot cream I used to have, actually.  It's a pretty big tube (125g) and only around $7.

Bourjois Effet 3D Lip Gloss

I purchased this along with the Bourjois nail polishes, I had no idea what to expect but it looked pretty.

The shade is called "Rose Yummy", # 15.  It does have kind of a fruit scent but not very noticeable.  The applicator is flat:

The swatches:

I LOVE this lip gloss!  Absolutely love it!  It is soooo glossy and shiny, and not sticky!  The colour was just beautiful as well.  The only downside is it does not in any way last 8 hours.  Under what circumstances could it possibly last that long, I don't know, because I only got an hour or two out of it, tops.  But reapplying isn't too difficult and I am sure I will use this tube up completely.

I went back to get another one actually, but this shade Beige Mellow #11, is a downer for me.  I thought it was a little like NARS' Turkish delight, but it's not anywhere close (see photo, Turkish Delight is on the left and it doesn't even show up on my skin lol), and for some reason, Beige Mellow isn't nearly as glossy as Rose Yummy either.  I thought it wasn't on my lips anymore so I reapplied on the go without a mirror, and layering it turns out to be really gross so I had to start over which left me with a slightly glossy nude lip look. Which I could have just as easily achieved with a clear lip gloss!

If I get a chance sometime I might purchase another one but I'll have to be a bit more careful about the shade.  Rose Yummy is excellent though.

3 Sunny Yellow Polishes

I really like yellow nail polish, and since my favourite one broke I had to find some others.  Here are three that I've bought recently and really like!

NYX Matte Yellow, Rimmel Sunny Days, Revlon Sunshine Sparkle

I would have to say the Rimmel one is my fave out of these.  I read some raves about the 60 second formula but I was really skeptical- and wrongly so, it's really fantastic.  Wear time isn't the best but application is a breeze and the colour is just so pretty!

L'Oreal Infallible Eyeshadows: Cosmic Black, Metallic Lilac

These are two shades I've recently purchased, they are really gorgeous!

Metallic Lilac doesn't appear quite as pigmented on the lid but can be built up.  I actually tested it without a primer and it still lasted 12 hours on me.  These are both very easy to work with and excellent shadows!

Rimmel Match Perfection Foundation Review

This is shade 091, Light Ivory.

Here it is on my face:

Overall, I like this foundation.  It does take a while to dry though, that would be my only complaint.  It didn't change colour or rub off during the day, about 6-7 hours.  It didn't feel cakey or dry, even on my dry skin.  I thought it was a pretty good match for me, it did seem to blend in very well.

Revlon Lip Butters: Candy Apple, Peach Parfait

So I finally figured out they don't carry all of the lip butter shades here, and I am still waiting for their balm stain sticks too.  I wanted to get "Gumdrop" and "Sweet Tart" but had to give up.  I think these two are very pretty though!

Swatches:

I didn't want to get Candy Apple at first since red is a rarely wearable shade for me, and I was completely right, it is really red!

It looks more orange in the sunlight, but in person it is like a cherry tomato.  I really love the texture though, I definitely prefer it over the glittery ones.

Peach Parfait is one of the shimmery shades, and I really like how it lightens my lips.

Bourjois So Laque! Nail Polishes

I saw these in a magazine so right away I went looking for one.

I really liked it instantly, it is really shiny like patent leather!  It is called "Blue Fabuleaux".  I don't know if it's similar to Illamasqua's "Force" polish, which I wanted for a while now. I've been looking for this shade of blue- it's just so perfectly blue!

The formula is so nice and creamy, it applies really well.  I did two coats and it was perfect.  No streaks or uneven spots.  Some people might like 3 coats for the lighter shades like the pink below but I preferred it with just two.  It is such a pretty shade to use with any type of nail art or decal too.

The finish on these is so pretty, it really does look like a patent leather, and it already looks thick enough with two coats so that's why I didn't do three.  I went back to purchase these other two shades, Blue Violet and Rose Merveille, and they are equally gorgeous.  They really have a huge colour selection of these, they even had yellow and chartreuse.

I also love that the caps are the colour, they are the only bottles I have like that so it's incredibly easy to get to them even in a bottom drawer.

I think I remember seeing this purple somewhere too, but I forgot by now.  I love the shade, it's a lavender-periwinkle, very pretty!

Of the two formulas, I'd definitely prefer the So Laque! even though the other one is not too bad, just a little thinner and less shiny.  The only downside is they didn't last the 7 days advertised, but it doesn't matter that much to me since I tend to change my nails often anyway.  The shades are beautiful and they apply well so they're good purchases for me!

A Sizeable Haul and Mini Review

So I could not prevent myself from going back to the essence section.... but in my quest, I also discovered there is Barry M.!!  I've always wanted to try their products but never got to.  The display was new, but very small.  They had maybe a tenth of what I've seen on the Barry M site.

I just got a few things to try them.  I chose a lipstick (# 129), two Dazzle Dusts (forgot to photo one!) and one Fine Glitter Dust.

NYX had a sale buy 2 get one free so I got a lip cream, a jumbo lip pencil and a matte nail polish.

I know those are old, but this is honestly the first time I've seen the Revlon lip stains so I got one in Passion.  I was looking for the balm sticks but no chance yet.  I've decided I don't like lip markers (or any cosmetic marker, basically), so I won't bother with a review.  Here is a swatch of it:

And this is what I got from essence this time:

The eye brushes were an impulse buy, but hey they have purple bristles!  The smokey eye brush is really small so maybe I can use it for an outer v brush.  That and the regular eyeshadow brush were only a couple bucks.  One of the best $5 purchases I ever made was a Sonia Kashuk eye brush so who knows.

Here are swatches of the nail polishes.  I ended up really loving the pink 3 colour tube I bought, I liked the glossy/gelly finish of it so much!  They still didn't have the green one but I'm so happy they had the blue this time.   I think I'll try using the purple one over something else also.

The Vampire one is called "The Dawn is Broken" and it totally reminds me of concrete.

I will review the cream shadow (and the other stuff!) another time, but for now I've tested "Kermit Says Hello".

First of all, their representation of this shade on the internet is ridiculous- not even close!  All the other shades look at least similar, and actually pretty accurate, but they really need to fix this one.

Here is the swatch:

I could say "I told you so..." to myself, but... this eyeshadow is really bad!  Forget about using it without a primer, but even with one, it was off my lid completely in two hours, which has never happened to me that I can recall.  I really had to scrub the pan to get the colour on the brush to begin with, so my hopes were dashed.  Luckily I didn't waste a lot of money on it but I think I'll skip their eyeshadows from now on.

Skin Food Pedicure Sparkle Nail Polish

I recently discovered a small Skin Food shop.  They are a Korean brand.  Their polish selection was really low, but I wanted to try something, so I got this:

I had to find on their website www.theskinfoodus.com that this is shade #6, Violet.  I also saw all the other products they offer, so check it out because they have a ton of cool stuff!  There's a makeup setting spray I'd love to try.  They really do have food stuff for skin- made with cashew, avocado, even beer and wine!

This polish is amazing!  I've used it on both fingers and toes so far, and all it takes is one coat.  It isn't streaky or too thick either, and I've had it on my toes for over a week with no issues at all.  This polish was just under $7, and they even had a few for under $5, but none of those colours were very appealing like this one.

I was going to say it looks like it has diamond dust in it, but they took the words right out of my mouth:

"A pedicure product, that contains diamond sparkling pearl to present dimensional pearl and color effects for the toes."

Inglot Pressed Powder # 15

This is a freedom system pressed powder in shade # 15.  Inglot also has AMC and YSM pressed powders but this one is just the normal one.  It is huge!  It is 13 grams of product and it cost me around $13.

I tried my best to swatch it but it didn't come out very well.  The main thing I want to show here is the texture.

I am pretty much indifferent about this powder.  I have been using Dior powders for a billion years so it's really hard for me to adjust to anything else.  Dior powders are just so soft, fine, and smooth.  This one is not.  I'd just say it's basic, not amazing or anything.  I found it better to use it lightly, it is on the heavier side as far as powders go so I wouldn't want it caking up.

But at least now my travel palette is ready to go and so am I!

Interesting- Extra Wide Lash Line Brush

I was just browsing around the other day and came across these Sonia Kashuk brushes.  I've never seen this shape before, and of course I can't order from Target so I checked all the other brush sites and didn't see them anywhere else.

They even have one in a set:

It looks really interesting, but for some reason I see myself making a big mess on my eye.

Has anyone tried one of these???

Rimmel Gel Eyeliner

I recently got this on sale for less than $5.  I didn't want it but the salesperson was so pushy and acted like I couldn't live without it.

It comes with a teeny brush which doubles as a very long cap:

And here is the swatch:

This eyeliner is very, very liquidy, like a thick pen ink.  For me it is incredibly hard to deal with.  I've been trying for over a week but I never got it to stay in my waterline at all, I'd end up with raccoon eyes after a few minutes.  Lash line wasn't any better for me as it basically never dries.  The brush is useless but no matter what brush I used I couldn't get the lines decent since once it's on your lid the dark black you see here isn't so easy to achieve either, and going over the line while the first one is still wet just makes more of a mess.

I honestly think this is the last straw for me with this brand!  I am only getting something from them if I read an absolutely stellar review and it's a product I'll actually use- otherwise, no more blind buys from them!

Overall, unless you're up for a challenge or like non-drying liquid eyeliners, I'd pass on this.
