Maybelline Colorsensational Lipsticks: Ruby Star, Iced Caramel

I think this wraps it up for my lipstick swatches!

I actually didn't like the texture of Ruby Star, it felt almost gritty.  I like Iced Caramel but I feel like I've gone from having one or two nude lipsticks to more than I can use.

Rimmel Moisture Renew Lipsticks Swatches: 220, 360, 720

When they say moist, they mean it!! I'm pretty sure these have been reformulated, as I don't recall them being so pigmented and creamy in the past. These are 220 Heather Shimmer, 360 As You Want Victoria, and 720 Notting Hill Nude. None of them are shimmery though, and they really aren't drying. 360 stains beautifully on me. The only issue I had was wear time, as they tend to slide off a bit but I can still get a good 3 hours.

This is Notting Hill Nude, compared with one of my favourite nudes, BYS Champagne Rain.  Champagne Rain is really moist and creamy, but compared to Rimmel it looks almost dry.  I don't know which one I prefer!

I honestly love Rimmel lipsticks.
Such a variety of shades and finishes, and aside from the Kate Moss range, I think these are my faves so far.

MAC Rihanna: Who's That Chick Lipstick

I went into MAC looking for "something different" so I was lucky to find the last one of these... I didn't think they had any around anymore and I didn't expect to like it as much as I do!  I never got it before because I didn't think any of the Rihanna lippies would look good on me. I do have Ruby Woo somewhere but haven't worn it in I can't even remember how long.  I think this looks fine on me, but I'm always open to feedback!

This one is probably the shortest-wearing MAC lipstick I have though.. I don't mind since reapplying is easy; the color doesn't bleed much or stain, and for me it's unique.  The coverage is great, and I love how much gold it has in it, that makes it more wearable for me than a true orange.  That being said, once it does fade, the orange is first to go, some shimmer stays longer.

I don't think I can live without the rose gold eyeliner coming up with the Rihanna Holiday collection!

Maybelline Super Stay 14 Hour Lipsticks

Since I did like the Maybelline lip stains a lot, I decided to purchase three of these without knowing anything about them.

The shades I bought were Stay With Me Coral (430), Infinitely Fuchsia (160), and Ravishing Rouge (540).  Here they are swatched in natural light:

And indoors with flash:

Lovely colours, right?  Unfortunately they work better on my arm than my lips.  Every problem that you try to avoid with a lipstick, these have it.  First, they are absolutely unforgiving and I would definitely recommend a lip liner.

Here is Ravishing Rouge on my lips:

Stay With Me Coral:

Here you can start to see the problem- the texture.  These are super pigmented and go on smooth (with a little effort), but they dry down super matte.  Then after a few minutes the lipstick starts to become intensely grainy, really uncomfortable because I could actually feel it doing that on my lips.

They also bled very badly on me, not right away but after a few hours of wear but the effect was horrible.  They are so drying, so scratchy, plus they bleed?  No thank you.  One good thing I can say is that they are incredibly saturated, although this too can be problematic if you overapply, so using a lip brush helps, but I hardly find it worth the effort.  The last straw for me was the cheapo dollar store packaging despite the fact that they cost much more.  All of this adds up to a product I would assuredly pass on.

Covergirl Queen Collection Lipsticks: Ruby Slipper, Au Naturale

I love these lipsticks!  What I found odd though, was that these were not even in the same aisle as the other Covergirl products.  Nonetheless, I picked these two lovelies up recently:

Smooth, creamy, pigmented, very long lasting... what more can I say- these are awesome!!

Review: Inglot Cream Lipstick 148

I bought this lipstick strictly for the colour, I wanted to try it out.  It is a very pretty pink, with a bluish tint.

I immediately loved the colour, it was exactly what I expected.

The swatches:

I used the flash, primarily so you can see the lilac tint it has in the light:

The colour, I loved.  It was very pretty.  Unfortunately, I did not like this lipstick and I would not purchase again.  It has a really bad taste first of all.  I also did not care for the texture, I don't know if I got a bad tube, but mine was not creamy at all, in fact, it was almost grainy in texture, quite uncomfortable.  I also could not get much wear from it- about 2 1/2 hours tops, and that is with my mouth completely closed the whole time- forget about eating or drinking with this.  Or even talking on the phone lol.

Here is how it turned out on my lips:

I got this lipstick from Inglotusa.com for $12.

On a side note, for those of you who have found out about new Inglot products, where so??  Have you seen them for sale?  The trio shadows, and even larger than 20 palettes?  I am very curious about these!!

Update: Candy Yum Yum and Broken Camera

Soo..... I got this MAC package today which for some reason, I forgot I even ordered.  I LOVE Candy Yum Yum!!!  It is so neon pink!

Unfortunately, my camera is fried.  If we were back in the days of film, I would have tossed at least a dozen rolls trying to capture the awesomeness that is this lipstick.

My husband just got me this camera right before our son was born, and he is just now 14 months, so I dont know what exactly the problem is.  I tired it in every lighting scenario, in every setting.  I couldn' t even photograph the swatch.

That being said, I may have to take a little hiatus until I can figure out the problem or buy a new camera.

I also wanted to share that I got some Quite Cute pins, even though the web said a $75 purchase was required, which I did not buy that much, but I got them anyway!  Really cool!  MAC also reimbursed my shipping fee because I ordered at 9 a.m. but I didn't get my code until 1 p.m., and Candy Yum Yum was already sold out by then, no lie.

Anyway, here are my crappy photos... sorry!!
